The people at Tokyo Marui really don’t seem to stop at anything in creating guns to satisfy the Airsoft community. They’ve just recently released their latest M4 carbine airsoft gun replica. Replicating one of the world’s most popular rifles that have seen numerous battles is really a tough job but Tokyo Marui has done a fairly good job with their high cycle M4 CRW.
The Tokyo Marui M4 CRW (High Cycle) has an overall length of 680 mm making it compact and fit for CQBs. It’s laid out with a CQB length barrel and a solid short style stock by incorporating an HK416 design. The rifle features a triangular front sight and a spring powered flip up rear sight for those who don’t have optics or red dot sights that can be attached on a very long RIS top metal rail system. For flashlights and grenade launcher the front barrel has built in rails as well – on the side and bottom part. QD type sling mounts are also built in already. One of the downsides of this gun is that it’s not ambidextrous (ergonomic for a left handed or a right handed) with the firing switch (safe, semi & auto) are accessible from the left side and the magazine release from the right side. To compensate for these lacking features, TM definitely focused on the inside.
What makes this rifle different from the other Tokyo Marui Series M4 is the high cycle feature. The internals of this gun have been completely re-designed by TM to give way to an ultra-high speed rotation motor. This provides a 25BBs per second rate of fire for just an 8.4 v mini battery that is housed in the buttstock. Of course, it is understandable that when you increase the rate of fire of a rifle, it is more likely that the muzzle velocity may have been compromised. This is the case with this rifle but not too much because of its respectable muzzle velocity of 260 feet per second. To keep up with the high ROF, a high capacity magazine is included with every purchase the can hold 320 rounds.
All in all, this Airsoft rifle is a must-have. It weighs a little over 2 kilos which is ideal for CQB fanatics.
