When looking at refurbished laptops under $300, refurbished laptops seem like a really good deal. Some of the laptops are amazing deals. Not every one will be. Here are some things that you will want to be on the lookout for.

The first thing you will want to be on the lookout for is the old processors out there. Find out what processor is in any laptop that you are considering. The processor is like the central computer chip of the computer. It is a small chip that much of the computing power hinges on. The newer the processor, the more powerful it will be. Compare the processor in the laptop to what else is out there.

As far as the rest of the specs, a good rule of thumb us to compare used or refurbished laptops under $300 to the netbooks out there that are under $300. If the memory and hard disk space in the laptop is less than that of the netbook, then why do you want the refurbished laptop under $300.? Is it just the screen size? The netbook will have newer technology and a more powerful processor. Is the screen size really more important than the technology? It is something to consider.

If you are looking at manufacturer refurbished laptops, you will want to scope out the reviews of others who have gotten the same laptop, or gotten laptops from the same manufacturer. Make sure that there is a decent warranty with manufacturer refurbished laptops and any laptops under $500. You can expect a warranty that will last between 30 and 60 days. If you are looking at independently refurbished laptops, you might end up with an amazing piece of equipment, or you may end up with a dud. Make sure that they have a generous return policy so that you can make sure that everything is in working order.
