Women have used make up for as long as anyone can track any type of human civilization. The entire process of using makeup has been ritualized and the number of different makeup choices available to women now is enormous. While most women can put on full makeup with a simple hand mirror there is not a gift a woman will appreciate more than a really nice mirrored vanity. A mirrored vanity gives a woman a place to put all of her makeup and a comfortable convenient spot to let their creative juices really flow.

There are several different types of mirrored vanity. The basic vanities are simple tables with a mirror attached to the back. Some time they are ornamented and some time they are not. These tables range from the simple example above to a full makeup table Hollywood style, with lights around the mirror to eliminate shadows and soften the complexion, and drawers and vanity trays. The mirror can be of any shape but most are made in either the oval shape or the rectangle but some companies even offer a heart shaped mirror.

Mirrored vanities are also very decorative. The larger mirrors are actually dominating pieces of furniture that can tower a full five feet high. Most vanities are made of wood with oak and cherry being the most common but other woods are also available. Some have on large mirror and some have a central large mirror with side mirrors on each side.

How much you spend on mirrored vanities will depend on the brand of the vanity, its size and features and the type of wood it is made out of. A small basic mirrored vanity will cost about $150 and the larger ones can easily get to well over $1500. You can also have a mirrored vanity custom made but this will probably cost you a great deal more.
