Why would you need a Dog Carrier?

You might think that carrying a dog sounds like a crazy idea. After all, aren’t dogs supposed to love going for great long walks in the countryside? However, there are a few reasons why you might end up having to buy a dog carrier.
Owners of small dogs will be well aware of the fact that though their pet might be very willing to try and keep going on the longest walk, he will eventually tire or struggle over rougher terrain. However, it would be a shame to have to leave him sitting in his dog kennel while you explore the countryside. There are two main types of small dog carrier. One is in the style of an over the shoulder bag with extra long, reinforced straps. This allows the dog to poke his head up over the edge and see what is going on. The other is a bit like a baby carrier which is strapped to your chest. These are far better for your back and give your pet a wider view.
Some dogs are unfortunate to meet with an illness or accident which renders them incapable of walking far, if at all. They may have needed to have a leg amputated or been afflicted with joint problems. Other dogs are simply very elderly and rheumatism or arthritis prevents them from walking the distances that they happily covered when they were younger. However, being unable to walk doesn’t mean that they wish to spend their days looking at the four walls of your lounge! Dog carriers will allow them to experience the sights, smells and sounds of a good walk, without the physical effort. If you have a dog that is too large to carry then you can buy a carrier in the style of a child’s stroller. These have been specially adapted to accommodate the different shape and needs of a dog.
Whatever the reason for buying a dog carrier, your dog will really appreciate not being left indoors every time you go out.
