When designing an outdoor sitting space, many people like the idea of wicker outdoor furniture. It is very comfortable and has an interesting textured look. The console table with drawers may not be the most useful piece of furniture in the house, but it does have value for holding keys, notepads, pens and pencils, and other small items.  Some of us may not consider that as particularly useful, but all it takes to have a change of mind is to examine that “catch all” drawer in the kitchen.  We all have one.  It holds just about everything that does not have a place of its own.  Having and oak console table at the back entry, especially if it has a row or two of narrow drawers can become of the most valued pieces of furniture in or near the breakfast room, kitchen or mud room.  Imagine having a designated place for the car keys!  Or, what about all the times we toss our “catch all” drawers trying to find a pen that writes?
